Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Wormio. It is short, because the service is free, invite-only, and still in beta.
The short version
- Wormio is a free beta. It can change or stop, and it makes no promises about uptime.
- You need an invite, you need to be 18, and the resume you upload has to be yours.
- Job postings come from other companies' public career pages. Their accuracy is theirs, not Wormio's.
- Scores are generated by a language model and are sometimes wrong. Treat them as a reading order, not a verdict.
- Wormio is not a recruiter, not an employment agency, and cannot get you a job.
- You can leave whenever you want, and taking your data with you means deleting the account.
Who this agreement is with
Wormio is operated by Anthony Arellano, an individual operating under the name Wormio. There is no company behind it yet. This agreement is between you and that person, and using the service means accepting it.
If Wormio is later moved into a legal entity, this agreement moves with it, and you will be told before that happens.
How you accepted this
Creating an account requires ticking a box next to a link to this page and to the privacy policy. That tick is the agreement. It is not buried in a footer, and it is not implied by browsing.
The version you accepted is recorded on your account, along with when you accepted it, so both sides can tell which text was in force. The version is the date at the top of this page.
If these terms change materially, notice goes to your account email before the change takes effect, and you will be asked to accept the new version. Accounts created before this acceptance step existed have no record on file, and will be asked to accept before anything further is required of them.
This is a beta
Wormio is early software, offered free, by invitation. That has consequences worth stating plainly rather than burying:
- It may be unavailable, and there is no uptime commitment. A digest that does not arrive is not a breach of this agreement.
- Features can change or disappear without notice.
- The service can be discontinued. If that happens, notice goes to your account email with enough time to save anything you want.
- Bugs are expected. Data loss is possible, and the only copy of your resume should never be the one here.
Wormio is free today. If it ever costs money, you will be told before you are charged, and nothing you already have will be taken away without notice.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You need a valid invite code. Accounts are not open to the public.
- Give accurate information, starting with an email address that actually reaches you, since that is where the product delivers.
- Your login is yours. Do not share it, and tell the address below if you think someone else has it.
- One person, one account.
An account may be suspended or removed for breaking the acceptable use section below, or where keeping it running would put the service or its other users at risk.
What you upload
Your resume stays yours. Uploading it does not transfer any ownership.
You do grant permission to store and process it for one purpose: running the service for you. That covers keeping the text, condensing it, generating an embedding of it, and sending it to the model providers named in the privacy policy so postings can be scored. That permission is limited to operating Wormio for you, and it ends when you delete your account.
There is no license here to publish your resume, show it to anyone else, sell it, or train a model on it. Those are not permitted by this agreement and are not done.
You are responsible for what you upload. Upload your own resume, not someone else's, and do not include information about other people that you have no right to share.
Job postings and what Wormio is not
Postings shown to you are gathered from the public career pages of companies you chose to track. They are those companies' content, not Wormio's.
So: a posting may be filled, withdrawn, expired, or inaccurate by the time you read it. Wormio detects closures on a daily cycle and marks them, which means a role can be gone for hours before the digest reflects it. Postings are not endorsed, and no promise is made that a listed employer is one you should work for.
Wormio is not a recruiter, an employment agency, a staffing firm, or a career counselor. It does not represent you to anybody, does not submit applications for you, and has no relationship with the companies whose boards it reads. Applying is something you do yourself, on their site, under their terms. No outcome is promised: not an interview, not an offer, not a reply.
Scores are automated, and imperfect
Every score and every one-line reason in your digest is generated by a large language model comparing your profile against a posting. Nobody reviews them before you see them.
Language models get things wrong. A score can misread your experience, misjudge a posting's requirements, or rank a good fit below a bad one. The threshold you set filters what you are shown, which means a role you would have wanted can be filtered out.
Use the ranking as a reading order, not a decision. Do not skip applying to something because Wormio scored it low, and do not treat a high score as evidence that you are qualified. The judgment is yours, and the scores are a first pass at your inbox rather than a substitute for reading the posting.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract the service, or access it through automated means outside a normal browser.
- Republish, resell, or redistribute digests or posting data.
- Upload a resume that is not yours, or content you have no right to submit.
- Try to reach another user's account or data, or to defeat the access controls that separate them.
- Probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with its operation.
- Use it for anything illegal, or to discriminate against anyone.
- Circumvent invite-only access, including by creating multiple accounts.
If you find a security flaw, report it to hello@wormio.app instead of exploiting it. Good-faith reports are welcome and will not be treated as a breach of this section.
Having an account means getting the digest you signed up for, plus the occasional message that is necessary to operate your account, such as a password reset or notice of a change to these terms.
The digest can be turned off at any time, from your account page or the unsubscribe link in any digest. Account and security messages cannot be turned off while the account exists, because they are the only way to reach you about it.
Ending this
You can delete your account at any time from the account page. No notice, no explanation, no retention offer. What that removes is described in the privacy policy.
Access may be ended for breaking these terms, or if the service shuts down. Except where an immediate stop is necessary, notice goes to your account email first.
The sections on what you upload, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, and governing law survive the end of the agreement.
No warranty
Wormio is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Specifically, there is no promise that the service will be uninterrupted, that scores will be accurate, that every relevant posting will be found, that a posting shown is still open, or that using it will produce any employment outcome.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages is excluded. That includes lost wages, lost job opportunities, and missed applications, which are the realistic shapes this could take.
Total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to one hundred US dollars, or the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Wormio is free, so today that figure is one hundred dollars.
Some states do not allow these exclusions. New Jersey is one of them: under New Jersey law certain of the limitations above may not apply to New Jersey residents, and nothing here is intended to waive a right you cannot lawfully waive. Where a provision is unenforceable as to you, it applies only to the extent permitted, and the rest of this agreement stands.
If your use of Wormio causes someone else harm
If a third party brings a claim against Wormio because of something you did, you agree to cover the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees. In practice this section is about a narrow set of things: uploading a resume or other content you had no right to upload, using the service in a way these terms prohibit, and breaking the law with it.
It does not cover claims arising from how Wormio itself is built or operated. If the problem is a bug, a breach, or a decision made on this end, that is not yours to cover.
You will be told promptly about any claim this section is invoked for, and you may participate in its defense. Nothing will be settled in a way that admits fault on your behalf without your consent.
The rest of the fine print
- Assignment: you may not transfer your account or your rights under this agreement. Wormio may transfer this agreement to a successor, most likely a legal entity formed to operate the service, and you will be told before that happens.
- Entire agreement: this page and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about the service, and they replace anything said elsewhere, including in marketing copy or email.
- Severability: if a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and the unenforceable provision applies as far as the law allows.
- No waiver: not enforcing something once does not give it up later.
- Events outside anyone's control: neither side is responsible for failures caused by things it cannot control, such as an outage at a hosting or model provider, a network failure, or a natural disaster.
- Electronic communications: this agreement is entered into electronically, and notices, agreements, and disclosures sent to your account email satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
- No third-party beneficiaries: this agreement is between you and Wormio, and gives no rights to anyone else.
Links out to an employer's site or a job board are that company's responsibility, not Wormio's. Once you leave, their terms and their privacy policy apply, not these.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change, and the two dates at the top say how. A correction or a clarification that does not change the agreement moves the "last revised" date, and nothing is asked of you.
A material change, meaning one that changes the deal itself, moves the "effective" date. Notice goes to your account email before it takes effect, and the next time you sign in you will be shown the new version and asked to accept it. Continuing to use Wormio is not treated as agreement on its own; you have to say so.
While an acceptance is outstanding the service is paused rather than continuing on the old terms: the daily run skips your account, and no digest is sent. Nothing is deleted and nothing expires, so accepting picks up where you left off.
You are never trapped by that request. Declining is always possible: sign out and stop using the service, or delete your account outright. The account page stays available while an acceptance is outstanding, precisely so that deleting does not require agreeing first, and the toggle that turns off the digest email stays available there for the same reason.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and both sides consent to that jurisdiction.
There is no arbitration clause and no class action waiver here. If you have a problem, the first step is email, and it will most likely be resolved there.
